Welcome back, my disciple. Have you considered our previous lesson?

DISCIPLE

Yes, master! But I wish to know more of this far away place you spoke of.

HIGH LORD SHADE

Ah, you speak of Galaxy Prime! Yes, it is a wondrous place I have seen. But it is very distant. So distant that one cannot physically travel there by any mortal means.

DISCIPLE

Then how can a lowly servant such as I share in this experience?

HIGH LORD SHADE

In my infinite wisdom I have devised an interactive simulation so that others may come to know this place and live a virtual life through some of its more notable inhabitants.

DISCIPLE

You refer to a roleplaying game!

HIGH LORD SHADE

Indeed. And the possibilities are endless. Presently there are three dozen races that you may emulate.

DISCIPLE

Who will I meet?

HIGH LORD SHADE

Nearly four score sentient alien species are there for you to encounter, as well as five dozen fascinating xenomorphs.

DISCIPLE

Xenomorphs?

HIGH LORD SHADE

Non-sentient lifeforms.

DISCIPLE

I see. But what will I do?

HIGH LORD SHADE

Anything you desire. There are fourteen different occupations to try your hand at. You may wish to aid people as a medic, diplomat or clergyman. Or if you are feeling aggressive you might even attempt to succeed as a bounty hunter, mercenary or lawman.

DISCIPLE

Intriguing. But where will I go?

HIGH LORD SHADE

There are twelve massive sectors to explore. Galaxy Prime has hundreds of known planets and other features to investigate. But stay away from Sector Gamma Four.

DISCIPLE

Why? What will I find there?

HIGH LORD SHADE

Nothing. Blackness. The entire sector has been enveloped by some unknown entity called the Mordas.

DISCIPLE

The entire sector?!

HIGH LORD SHADE

Yes, as foretold in the Kinet prophecy.

DISCIPLE

Who are the Kinet?

HIGH LORD SHADE

A group of mystics that wield great power. Many races comprise the Kinet. If you are truly lucky you may be allowed to experience their noble struggle to banish the Mordas and return balance to Galaxy Prime.

DISCIPLE

That sounds like a daunting task. I may not be worthy.

HIGH LORD SHADE

We shall see. For now, perhaps you should concern yourself with the more quantifiable aspects of Galaxy Prime.

DISCIPLE

Such as?

HIGH LORD SHADE

Cyberware, mutations, piloting starships...

DISCIPLE

You are most wise, master. You know my inner heart. I have always wanted to sail through the stars, command a fleet and prevail against the forces of tyranny!
